Homemade Bread πŸ₯–βœ¨

A simple, soft, golden loaf β€” perfect for toast, sandwiches, or tearing warm from the oven.

Ingredients

  • 500g strong white bread flour
  • 7g fast‑action yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Method

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: Add flour, yeast, salt and sugar to a large bowl.
  2. Add the liquids: Pour in warm water and olive oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead: Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and stretchy.
  4. First rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the loaf: Knock the air out, shape into a loaf and place into a tin or on a baking tray.
  6. Second rise: Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 200Β°C. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and hollow when tapped on the bottom.
