About This Craft

Linda from Exeter raises money for Hospiscare through her artwork. Her handmade button‑art cards are simple, charming, and full of heart — each one created with care and a desire to help others.

Linda describes herself as someone who “can only draw stick people”, yet her cards have a warmth and personality that make them truly special. Some drawings are created by her daughter‑in‑law, while Linda colours them, decorates the cards, and chooses the perfect buttons to bring each design to life. These cards are sold within the retirement flats where she lives, helping raise funds for a charity close to her heart.

Creativity & Wellbeing

Linda believes that drawing — no matter how simple — is good for our wellbeing. Creativity can be done anywhere: in the garden, on the train, in a café, or at home. Her cards are a reminder that creativity doesn’t need to be perfect to be meaningful.

Linda’s friend also knits for charity, while Linda makes cards because she can no longer knit. Together, they show how small acts of creativity can make a big difference to others.

How They Are Made

Linda begins with a simple drawing, either her own or one created by her daughter‑in‑law. She colours the drawing, adds small decorations, and chooses buttons that match the character or theme of the card. Each card is handmade with care, love, and the intention of helping others through charity.

Supporting Hospiscare
